Lucie Wake’S VIBRANT Oil Paintings AND PRINTS of PBF
Lucie Wake is a contemporary painter based in York, North Yorkshire. Her work reflects her love of colour, people and nature. Recognised for her distinctive bold brushstrokes, she paints happy times reflecting her belief that life is for celebrating.
“Quite simply, painting makes me happy and I express this through my artworks. My use of vivid colour reflects my attitude to life. I enjoy connecting with people and this is evident in my work; my customers go on to become friends. Painting combines my love of people, colour and light. I really enjoy painting a smile in my portraits. I want my work to lift your spirits.”
Lucie works from her studio in York. She received a BA {Hons} in Ceramics from Wolverhampton Polytechnic in 1991, then ran a successful licensing company, where her designs were available on a wide range of products in high street stores. Lucie is married with two children. In her early 30’s, Lucie was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. After a debilitating relapse, she taught herself to paint to give her life meaning. Her career has since continued to blossom. In 2022 she was selected from thousands of applicants to paint on Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year. You can visit Lucie’s studio as part of the annual York Open Studios event.
