As much as we would love the lakes to be accessible to all, this is still a work in progress. We aim to make the lakes as accessible as possible whilst still being a wild swimming venue that aligns with nature.

We are an inclusive venue and welcome everyone to the lakes who respects our rules and guidelines. If you need any assistance to be able to visit our venue, have any questions, concerns or feedback with regards to accessibility please do not hesitate to contact us. We will help wherever we can.

We have Blue Badge parking by the Horseshoe lake. There are also 3 blue badge spaces by the Q lake. As space is limited we do ask that if someone else is driving you they drop you off at Q lake and return the car to the main carpark. Simply drive to the gate where a team member will direct and assist you

The closest lake is currently only a few meters from the car park. Please be aware the ground is firm but uneven, In winter it can get muddy in places. There is no covered changing in this area at present. People tend to change under robes etc.

If you are an ambulatory wheelchair user, you are able to get to the large changing barn by Monet. If you have a wheel chair with sturdy/off ground wheels you will be able to access the change barn also. The Monet lake is a further 8m from the changing barn along a gravel path. There are then steps with hand rails into the lake.

The Q lake has access via ramps with hand rails. There is a change barn at Q lake however a salute lip on the entry may cause some issues with wheelchairs.

Our saunas are all accessible by a stone path with the closest sauna to the change barns being the Lakeview. All saunas have handrails on the steps and steps into the water.

None of our saunas are wheelchair accessible and metal sticks shouldn't be taken in due to the extreme heat. Walking sticks can be left in the vestibule.

For those with impaired vision is it important to note that the ground, by nature, is uneven.

If it’s been raining it can be muddy underfoot therefore please bring your wellies.

Wheelchair access to the sides of any of the lakes is difficult at present.

The lakes have shallow steps and handrails to help you into the lakes, however, it may be worth noting that the bottom step into the lake is variable in height.

The main paths have solar lights that come on in low light.

Guide & assistance dogs are welcomed on the lakeside but not in the water.

If a friend, relative or carer wishes to come and check out accessibility and suitability before your visit this is no problem at all, just drop us an email and we can arrange this. There are also free carer swim tickets available on our site.

The cafe, which is ancillary to the business so predominantly for the use of swimmer. Has double door access although is rather small and gets very busy at peak times. You may need to ask for assistance in moving some chairs to gain access to the table. The staff are very accommodating so please just ask them, they can also take your order at the table to avoid you needing to queue at the counter where space is again limited.

If you are anxious about visiting and it would help to have someone meet you show you around this can be arranged please just pop us an email.

If there is anything else you feel would be useful in this section please do email us and we will gladly add to the information where we can.
