Lakes and Lakeside Rules
By purchasing a ticket, you understand and agree to all of the following (Updated October 2025):
The use of the lakes and lakeside is done so entirely at your own risk. We do not have lifeguards. Please carry out your own research and decide what is safe for you and your family before using the facilities.
All lakeside visitors, including those who are not swimming, must PURCHASE A TICKET before heading to the lakeside and have it available at all times if inspection is requested. For the comfort & privacy of those using the lakes, we do not allow anyone to ‘have a look around’.
Children are not permitted to enter the water between October 1st and March 31st and until the temperature is consistently 12 degrees. Even at this temperature, it is only for the older, hardier children in wetsuits. Once Children are allowed to swim, Child swim tickets will be availble to buy. 17-year-olds may buy an adult swim ticket in spring, IF accompanied by a parent/Guardian
All swimmers must be able to swim 50m unaided, if you or your child are not able to do so a lifejacket (provided by yourself) must be worn at all times in the water. Non-swimmers must be able to swim 50m in a lifejacket and be closely supervised.
Seek medical advice if you have any pre-existing medical conditions BEFORE swimming or sauna-ing. The high sauna temperature and the low lake temperature (even in summer) can put stress on the body. You must understand your own health and physical limiations.
Anyone under 18 years old must be closely supervised by a parent or guardian at all times in and out of the water and there is a maximum ratio of 3 under 18’s to one adult. For ages 12-17, the adult can be on the banks of the lakes when the children are in the water, provided they are competent swimmers. Children under the age of 11 years must be accompanied in the water by a competent swimmer over the age of 18 at all times. Non-swimmers must have a ratio of one child to one Adult in the water. An Adult must stay within 3 metres of a young child, or one that can not swim unaided, at all times in the water.
The Sauna is strictly for 16 years and above. Those aged 16/17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
A double nappy policy is in place for all children who are under the age of 3 OR have been potty trained for less than 6 months. This means a disposable swim nappy covered by a neoprene swim nappy that has fitted legs and waistbands. For obvious reasons, we do not want anything escaping into our lakes.
No dogs on-site.
No drones are to be flown from the site.
Any photography or film for personal use must not include anyone without permission.
Please be respectful to ALL animals, wildlife and fellow swimmers and do not damage any flora or fauna.
No BBQs or Fires around the lakes these are for campers only in the camping field.
Jumping is only allowed from the jetties on Q-lake and is strongly advised against out of the summer season.
Small inflatables (<1.5m and without oars) and buoyancy aids may be used on the family lake only during the summer months. Large inflatables and boats may NOT be used on any lake. Note that SUPs & Kayaks can only be used during specified times in specified locations and must be pre-booked.
There are outdoor showers for swimmers, however, during the colder months, using a shower to warm up after a cold swim is dangerous so we advise against this.
Monet Lake is our tranquil lake; this does not mean silence but if you are a large or noisier group of adults please move to M-lake or Horseshoe.
No groups of teenagers as this is a family-friendly activity (See ratios)
No music at all around the lakes, not even if it is very quiet
No alcohol is to be taken to or consumed by the lakes and you agree that your bag may be searched upon entry to the premises. Anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs is not permitted in the lakes or on lakeside.
No Smoking around the lakes.
Please use ‘water-friendly’ sun cream and insect repellent. Nivea is an acceptable brand to use that has a water-safe option. Insect repellents need to be natural and deet-free.
Please take all your litter home with you.
Please use designated entry/exit points only.
In the event of thunder and lightning, you just follow the 30-30 rule. This is when you start counting to 30 when you see a flash of lightning. if you hear thunder on or before 30 seconds then the storm is close enough for a lightning strike and therefore deemed too dangerous to be swimming in the water. You should then wait 30 mins after the last visible lightning strike to ensure the storm has fully cleared.
Please report any issues to a member of staff in person or call 07928359420
