Pool Bridge Farm – Lost Property Policy
At Pool Bridge Farm, we understand that items can sometimes get left behind. This policy explains how we manage lost property in a fair, transparent and lawful way.
1. Where Lost Property Is Stored
Everyday items (clothing, shoes, bottles, towels, etc.) will be placed on the Lost Property Shelves in the Barn.
Visitors are welcome to look through these shelves during opening hours and collect anything they have misplaced.Wet or damp items will be dried out first where possible before being added to the lost property shelves.
Watches, jewellery, wallets and other valuables will be kept securely in the staff room for safekeeping.
2. How Long We Keep Items
Standard items on the barn shelves will be kept for one month.
Jewellery, watches and other valuables will be kept for two months.
After these time periods have passed, unclaimed items will be sold in a second-hand charity sale raising money for Menfulness.
3. Reserving Items for Collection
If you have contacted us by email or phone and arranged to collect a specific item:
We will label it and keep it in the staff room for two weeks from the date of agreement.
We cannot post items and we cannot keep them for longer than two weeks due to limited storage space and the large volume of lost property.
If the item is not collected within this timeframe, it will be moved to our lost property sale.
4. Items Found by Visitors
If you find an item that appears to be lost:
Please hand it to a member of the team so it can be stored and managed correctly.
5. Legal Notes
In accordance with UK law, Pool Bridge Farm takes reasonable steps to safeguard lost property and make it available for collection.
Once items are unclaimed after the retention period listed above, Pool Bridge Farm is legally permitted to dispose of or sell the items.
All proceeds from sales of unclaimed items are donated to Menfulness, our chosen charity.
