Autumn Swimming at Pool Bridge Farm
Pool Bridge Farm offers four stunning, peaceful and unique lakes for wild swimmers, nestled amidst nature, yet only 10 minutes from York city centre. A place you can connect with nature, step away from the chaos of everyday life and simply relax. We are not supervised lakes and there are no lifeguards, however we are a community of like minded people that find joy in swimming in cold clean water amongst the stunning nature and wildlife that calls PBF home.
Throughout September, before the water becomes too cold, we still welcome children to The Q Lake to come and make the most of the last days of the sunshine.
We have four lakes on site: The Monet Lake is a tranquil lake where you can swim amongst the beautifu lilies before they retreat for winter. The M Lake is where you will find our five wood-fired saunas that can be pre-booked making your visit to us extra special. The Horseshoe Lake offers a stunning 300m circuit with a good chance of seeing a Kingfisher if you keep your eyes peeled.
Very soon the Q Lake will see the end of the summer fun and once again revert back to a space of tranquillity and healing where the sunrises and sunsets and all in between will touch your soul.
A few things to note this AUTUMN:
We are open for Day ticket Holders from 8am-8pm.
Please Note on Saturday September 20th we will close at 6pm.
The lakes close at 7:45 pm, and all customers need to be off-site by 8pm.
We are a non-lifeguarded venue; whilst we have comprehensive safety measures in place swimming is unsupervised at your own risk. Do your research and make sure you know where the life rings and air horns are located.
The Q lake is where we welcome families to enjoy rime together, however everyone entering must be able to swim. If a life jacket is required, it needs to be provided by yourself and worn all the time. Life jackets are highly recommended for under 11’s and weaker swimmers.
We are a dry site with a zero tolerance approach to alcohol- please note that the cafe will not be serving post swimming alcohol until October 1st. And this is to be enjoyed in moderation with food.
All tickets must be purchased online before arriving to help manage numbers and car parking. If there are no tickets available we are sold out.
Other than guide dogs and our own family dogs, we do not allow dogs to visit the site. This is to ensure our precious wildlife stays safe.
The safety and privacy of our customers is a priority for us. Therefore, we politely request that you do not come for a ‘look around’. Not even a little bit.
Under 18s MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian and kept under close supervision at all times. Children under 11 and weaker swimmers must have an adult in the water with them at arm’s reach. We strongly suggest life jackets even if your child can swim. The maximum adult-to-child ratio is 1:3.
Paddle-boarding sessions must always be booked and will stop at the end of October.
If you are new to outdoor swimming - please do your own research before visiting us and bring appropriate clothing and equipment.
