Spring Swimming

Pool Bridge Farm offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy Wild / Open water swimming whilst we enter spring and the temperatures start to warm up. All of the 3 stunning swimming lakes, each have their unique feel and character. Over the spring months all three lakes are still a tranquil haven for swimmers but we start to see families arrive too. Tickets are also available for those not swimming but wishing to use the lakesides for picnics and peace and bird song if the water still feels a bit chilly.

Open from 7:30am until Sunset (or 9pm whichever is earlier) everyday over spring. Availability and prices can be seen via the online bookings tab.

All customers wishing to be lakeside must have a valid ticket either a swimmers ticket or a lakeside pass and fully appreciate the dangers of open water swimming. During April and May you are still able to pay cash (correct change only) on arrival but pre-booking os recommended. By purchasing a ticket you understand that USE OF THE LAKES AND LAKESIDE IS ENTIRELY AT YOUR OWN RISK.

The Monet Lake is the tranquil lake with the lake and lakeside to be used by adults only. The 200m long lake, situated just through the open changing area, takes its name from Claude Monet, the French impressionist painter, due to the large lily pads that run down the centre of the lake. Steps provide easy access to this stunning lake with its large grass banks providing plenty of room to relax after a swim.

The M Lake will be out family lake over Spring until Q lake opens, with children welcomed on the banks and in the water once it warms up. Children must not swim until the lake is consistently above 12 degrees, although even then it will still only be suitable for hardier older children in wetsuits. We recommend waiting until its 16/17 degrees before children start to swim which last year was mid May. The lake, shaped like the letter ‘M’ can be found just through the signing in hut. It is around 500m around the perimeter of this lake, depending on the route taken. Our Lake View Sauna is situated on the end of M Lake. The are around the Sauna will be kept as a tranquil adult only zone.

The Horseshoe Lake with its 300m circuit, lots of swimmers are using this lake for exercise and/or training. The lake can be found to the left of the track heading to the Meadows campsite.

Swimming facilities include; 2 lakeside saunas , ladies, gents and disabled toilets as well as an open changing area which has 2 small female and male changing areas for privacy. There is a mixed gender changing cabin for those with lake view sauna tickets too. There is an onsite Café (open Thursday to Sunday as well as Bank Holiday Mondays).

Our lakes are home to lots of wildlife and we therefore only welcome those who respect the wildlife and wish to immerse themselves in the natural tranquillity of the lakes. We respectfully ask that there is no music, alcohol, no-smoking or unsociable behaviour at all, and, if you are not prepared to follow the rules, please feel free to head elsewhere.
